Overview
Timelight Games tasked me with designing a scalable, retention-focused incremental simulator on Roblox. The goal was not only to deliver a playable MVP but also to create a modular architecture that the client could expand over time while maintaining player engagement and monetization balance.
Systems Architecture & Strategic Design
- Pet Collection & Gacha Framework: Multi-tier system with compounding multipliers to drive core engagement loops. Designed for long-term progression, allowing players to meaningfully invest in collection over time.
- Dual-Currency Economy: Integrated monetization from day one without compromising free-to-play accessibility. The economy supports both casual progression and premium shortcuts.
- Modular Multi-Zone World: Progression gates and escalating rewards crafted to sustain session depth and repeat visits. Zones are modular, allowing the client to expand content seamlessly.
- Progression & Equipment Systems: Tools and vehicles built on a flexible framework that scales with new content while preserving balance and retention dynamics.
- Server-Authoritative Security: All currency, inventory, and progression changes validate on the server to ensure fair play and maintain trust in long-term systems.
Strategic Outcomes
The modular architecture enabled Timelight Games to expand zones, add premium tools, and iterate on content without restructuring core systems. Lifetime visits have exceeded 250,000 with 8,000+ favorites, validating the design decisions.


Why This Matters
This project demonstrates how strategic systems architecture drives engagement, retention, and scalable monetization in Roblox experiences. By designing for sustainability from the ground up, I helped the client maintain long-term player engagement while ensuring the framework could evolve alongside their roadmap.
